First-time author Gina Hutcherson serves up a delightful and realistic early reader Christian chapter book with Maddie May and the Tea Trouble. When quiet and shy Maddie May inadvertently witnesses the class bully pulling a malicious prank on the teacher, what will she do?
I was impressed that the story took place in one day, never allowing Maddie May the opportunity to go home and get advice from her parents. Instead, Maddie has to figure it out on her own, not even telling her best friend what she’d seen. When the prank gets pinned on the wrong student, the stakes get raised and Maddie gets pushed out of her comfort zone. How will her faith lead to a solution?
This early chapter book has short chapters and moves along quickly to a resolution that is sure to help other young Christians when faced with life’s challenges.
