Quick read. Basic, sound advice.
Author Lisa Jacobson’s 100 Ways to Love Your Husband The Simple, Powerful Path to a Loving Marriage is filled with tidbits of sound advice for Christian wives who want to love their husbands in the best possible way.
Many of the topics are only a few sentences, but some dive a little deeper into the author’s experiences. All are common sense and simple reminders. There are some references to applicable Bible verses, but the verses themselves are not included. I didn’t take the time to look them up and felt it would have been helpful if they’d been included.
100 Ways to Love Your Husband is a newly released version of a previously published book. It can be read as a daily devotion, where each bite-sized topic is savored and absorbed. Or you could buzz through it quickly and read repeatedly as you need a refresher. Because, let’s face it, even good marriages have challenges. People aren’t perfect. Even the best spouse has irritating habits and bad days. Even the best Christian wives can wander off track and start taking a good man for granted.
100 Ways to Love Your Husband is the companion to 100 Ways to Love Your Wife. The husband and wife author duo also have “affirmation” companion books for married couples.
As an “old married lady” who’s blessed with an overall great marriage, I found this book to be a good reminder of getting back to the basics. Communication and respect are critical aspects of a good and lasting marriage. We can all probably use a little improvement in these areas. This book opened my eyes to the ways I’ve been taking my husband for granted. Marriage (as any relationship) can always be improved with concerted effort.
100 Ways to Love Your Husband would make a good gift for a newly engaged or married wife or the pair of books for a newly married couple or as wedding gifts. It can also serve as a reality-check for wives struggling within their marriage.
